General thoughts on poker and goals for the rest of 09
When I look at my blog now and see the lack of posts, I remember the days when I was religiously checking the likes of Tillerman, Doctor_Fun and Chris Moormans blog twice daily. I was so motivated by their success, watching Jacks getting ranked challenge, seeing him accomplish his goal and then move on to become a regular in the 1kNL games really made me feel like anyone can achieve anything.
In retrospect, the raw enthusiasm I had for the game back then and the bankrolls I grew and lost with that enthusiasm was simply not enough. I lacked the work ethic to truely immerse myself in poker theory and gain a decent grounding in any particular no limit area. I play alot less now than I used too, and whilst I have always had access to the likes of cardrunners, poker xfactor and the wealth of knowlegde that is the 2+2 forums, I have never spent enough time taking in this information or analysing my game to be able to apply it correctly.
Towers destroyed in days are not rebuilt in days. A well known saying and I imagine its ignored by the vast majority of poker players that find themselves in my position. Now said and out in the open maybe I will be able to heed this advice.
I think a main reasons behind the lack of sucess in bankroll building I have had is the high targets I have set myself in such short spaces of time and generally wanting to get too much from poker, without the work ethic accosciated with gaining these things.
I have played some in 09 and have remained profitable, withdrawing some funds here and there when I win to pay for weekends out and trips away. Generally what I have left in my accounts is squandered and I find myself grinding up another $50 deposit from payday.

Moving on to current business, I no longer have any targets, not for now or for the forseeable future. I want to reinvigorate my passion for playing this game but I do not want to destroy my current want to expand my skillset. Pokerstars currently have a UK VIP promotion running and I would love to be able to gain the 7.5k VPPS to get another 80,000 added and put me on path to supernova but I'm not going to force it or play anything crazy to get there. 8 tables of 25nl will do me fine and if I make one of the miles stones thats great.
I still get rakeback on fulltilt and pending sucess on stars I will move some cash to start grinding a roll out there again.
Playing at a level I can beat and have the roll to play at is also key, no more shots at 50nl without a decent roll, this has always been a massive leak and considering my lifetime winrate at 25nl is 8ptbb/100 then looking back if I did not have this leak I would be substantially better off.
I think thats all I can pull out of my crowded brain for now. Further updates later I would imagine.

Back to the grind thanks Neil!
So.... I haven't posted in ages, I just noticed that a guy left a comment on my last post wondering where I was. In all honesty I didnt think anyone ever read this and it was more a place for me to vent and be honest about the things I knew I was doing badly.
Since my last post a few things have changed, I ground that deposit to around $1.5k and had various small tourney wins. I find the structure on Tilt good for smaller field tourneys that you can win a couple of hundred dollars in however the 10 minute levels and huge antes make them a shovefest in the third hour of any other decent tourney. I've pretty much stopped playing them now. I had to cash out alot of money (£750 is a decent wedge of wonga to me) and subsequently didnt play as much as normal nor do I ever have the motivation to play serious amounts of micro sit n gos. However I have recently been staked to play 50NL and I'll spare you guys all the details and whom this deal is with but I will periodically cross post hands and thoughts from my posts at 2+2.

tilt control
I seem to be an expert in tilting. I demolished my roll again! I was ticking over nicely and then 2 beats in a row and I'm off. If this is such a hinderance to me playing.. should I play at all?
